Sony ha abordado la interrupción generalizada de PlayStation Network (PSN) que interrumpió el servicio durante casi 24 horas el pasado fin de semana. Si bien la compañía reconoció un "problema operativo" en una declaración de redes sociales, los detalles sobre la causa y las medidas preventivas siguen siendo no reveladas.

Para compensar a los usuarios afectados, los suscriptores de PlayStation Plus recibirán una extensión de cinco días a sus suscripciones, aplicadas automáticamente a sus cuentas.

La interrupción resultó en importantes interrupciones del juego. Una porción sustancial de los jugadores (más de un tercio) no pudo iniciar sesión, con otros informes de informes del servidor.

El incidente subraya las preocupaciones planteadas por los jugadores con respecto al requisito de Sony de una cuenta de PSN, incluso para juegos para un jugador en PC. Este enlace de cuenta obligatorio, argumentan los críticos, amplifica el impacto de las interrupciones de PSN.
