La confirmación reciente del equipo de relaciones públicas de SteamWorld Heist 2 revela que el próximo juego de estrategia no se lanzará en Xbox Game Pass, lo que contradice los materiales de marketing anteriores. La fecha de lanzamiento del juego, el 8 de agosto, permanece sin cambios, pero los desarrolladores atribuyeron el anuncio inicial de Game Pass a un error involuntario.

La inclusión inicial de Game Pass se anunció en abril junto con el avance de lanzamiento del juego. SteamWorld Heist 2, una secuela del título de tácticas por turnos de 2015, se distingue por su mecánica única de disparos tácticos en 2D, donde los jugadores apuntan manualmente el armamento de su robot.

XboxEra informó que Fortyseven, el equipo de relaciones públicas del juego, aclaró que la aparición del logotipo de Game Pass en el avance fue accidental, lo que generó malentendidos generalizados. Desde entonces, se han eliminado todas las publicaciones relacionadas en las redes sociales.
