As of now, Square Enix has officially cancelled the mobile game Kingdom Hearts: Missing-Link. The game was initially announced as a mobile-exclusive title set in the Kingdom Hearts universe, aiming to explore new storylines and characters. However, in a recent update, Square Enix confirmed that development has been shelved to allow the team to focus on the upcoming mainline entry, Kingdom Hearts IV.
The company emphasized that the cancellation was a strategic decision to ensure resources are directed toward delivering a high-quality, long-awaited entry in the series. Kingdom Hearts IV is currently in development and is expected to continue the narrative established in Kingdom Hearts III, potentially exploring new worlds and deepening the story of Sora, Riku, and other beloved characters.
While fans were disappointed by the cancellation of Missing-Link, many have expressed support for Square Enix’s decision to prioritize the main series. The studio has also hinted at future mobile or spin-off content, but no concrete details have been shared yet.
For fans of the franchise, the focus now shifts to Kingdom Hearts IV, which remains one of the most anticipated video games in the industry.
