Eggers que dirige la secuela de Labyrinth

Robert Eggers, recién salido de su aclamada película de terror gótico Nosferatu , dirigirá una secuela del querido clásico de fantasía, Labyrinth . Variety informa que Eggers escribirá y dirigirá, colaborando con su coguionista de Northman Sjón. Esta nueva secuela reemplaza un proyecto previamente anunciado con el director Scott Derrickson, que se había estancado desde 2023. Tristar y Jim Henson Pictures han optado por avanzar con la visión de Eggers.

El 1986 *Labyrinth *original, protagonizado por David Bowie como el duende King Jareth y Jennifer Connelly, sigue el viaje de una mujer joven hacia un mundo fantástico para rescatar a su hermanito secuestrado, ayudado por un elenco de títeres de Jim Henson.

Sin embargo, el plato de Eggers está lleno. También dirige una película de hombre lobo titulada Werwulf , con el objetivo de un lanzamiento de Navidad 2026. Los detalles son escasos, pero la película se desarrolla en Inglaterra del siglo XIII, con diálogo en inglés antiguo. Uno puede asumir con seguridad que las transformaciones de hombres lobo estarán involucradas.

Nosferatu de Eggers, una nueva versión de la película muda de FW Murnau de 1922, fue lanzada la Navidad pasada. Ambientada en Alemania del siglo XIX, la película sigue a un agente de bienes raíces cuyos tratos con un conteo transilvano Undleash Horrores vampiric sobre él y su esposa.
