Respondiendo a los comentarios de los jugadores, Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.16 presentará un sistema de intercambio CloudDark Demimateria. Esta actualización, que llegó el 21 de enero de 2025, aborda directamente las preocupaciones con respecto a la estructura de recompensas de la redada de la alianza Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic).

El cambio clave permite a los jugadores intercambiar exceso de nubeDark Demimateria 1 para Clouddark Demimateria 2. Si bien el tipo de cambio exacto sigue sin previo aviso, esta alteración facilita la adquisición de elementos de alta demanda como el peinado "media vez dos" y el "margarita de la oscuridad" monte "monta , ambos actualmente requieren cantidades significativas de Demimateria 2. Estos artículos también se pueden negociar en la junta de mercado, lo que sugiere posibles fluctuaciones de precios siguiendo el parche.

La redada de la Alianza Cloud of Darkness (Caotic), introducida en Patch 7.15, presentó un encuentro desafiante para hasta 24 jugadores. El sistema de recompensas actual, otorgando cantidades variables de Demimateria 1 y 2 basadas en bonos claros por primera vez, demostró ser desequilibrado, lo que provocó el próximo ajuste.

Square Enix enfatiza que este cambio es una respuesta directa a la retroalimentación de la comunidad, y los ajustes adicionales a la estructura de recompensas de la RAID u otros aspectos del juego son posibles en función de la entrada continua del jugador. Si bien el parche 7.16 también contará con la conclusión de la serie Dawntrail Rol Quest, las principales actualizaciones del saldo laboral se anticipan en un parche posterior (7.2).
