エルドギアの戦闘システムは、それほど複雑ではありませんが、戦略的な深みを提供します。ターンベースの戦闘では、戦術的な機動と独自のメカニズムの利用が可能です。EMA (埋め込み能力) システムにより、プレイヤーはユニットごとに 3 つの能力を装備できるため、ステータスのブースト、ステルス戦術、さらにはボディガードの能力まで柔軟に対応できます。 EXA（拡張能力）システムは、戦闘中にテンションを最大化することで発動し、破壊的な必殺技を繰り出します。
