Updated December 24, 2024: Another week has arrived for Destiny 2, bringing with it a reset of missions, challenges, and rewards. The game currently finds itself between narrative arcs, amidst ongoing discussions about a decline in player numbers. This situation is exacerbated by persistent issues, including major bugs and controversies. However, the festive spirit remains strong with The Dawning event still underway, offering players a final chance to bake cookies and collect rewards. Bungie has introduced a community challenge to make three rare emblems more accessible. Impressively, players have already baked over 3 million cookies for Commander Zavala.

The Destiny 2 weekly reset brings fresh content, activities, and rewards for players to pursue throughout the week. Here's a comprehensive overview of what's new for the week starting December 23, including Nightfalls, Crucible modes, and various challenges.

Weekly Nightfall and Modifiers

Nightfall Strike: The Inverted Spire

Advanced Modifiers:

• Champions: Barrier and Overload
• Hero Modifiers: Extra Shields. Solar, Void, and Arc.
• Galvanized: Combatants have more health and are more difficult to stun.
• Overcharge: Shotgun and Kinetic Weapons when the player's subclass matches an active Surge element.
• Threat: Void
• Surge: Void and Arc

Expert Modifiers:

• All previous modifiers.
• Equipment Locked: Unable to change equipment once the mission starts.
• Randomized Banes: Combatants are granted random Banes.
• Expert Modifiers: Extra Shields

Master Modifiers:

• All previous modifiers.
• Haste: Moving quickly slowly regenerates your health. Standing still slowly deals damage.
• Master Modifiers: Locked Loadout, Extra Champions, and Extra Shields.

Grandmaster Modifiers:

• All previous modifiers.
• Chaff: Radar is disabled.
• Grandmaster Modifiers: Extinguish, Limited Revives, Join In Progress Disabled, Contest, Locked Loadout, Extra Champions, and Extra Shields.

Week 12

• Narrowing The Odds - Craft 5 tonics to increase the likelihood of obtaining a specific weapon.
• Moon Activities - Complete bounties, patrols, public events, and Lost Sectors on the Moon to earn progress.
• Popping Off - Break 150 combatant shields with matching damage in Vanguard or Gambit playlists.
• Instrumented Performance - Achieve 150 final blows with Special ammo in Gambit, Crucible, or Vanguard Ops activities. Earn bonus progress for Shotgun or Grenade Launcher final blows or for defeating Guardians.
• Momentum Crash - Defeat 50 Guardians in Momentum Control. Gain bonus progress with Zone Advantage.

Exotic Mission Rotation

Bungie has reintroduced various exotic missions, offering players new rewards, gear, and craftable versions of exotic weapons. This rotation changes weekly, similar to the Raid and Dungeon rotator.

Raid and Dungeon Rotation

Introduced in Season 17, Bungie's weekly rotation of Raids and Dungeons makes them farmable with updated rewards. Starting with Episode: Revenant, two Raids and two Dungeons are featured each week:
