Diablo + Escape from Tarkov. Developer Wolcen announced “ExtrAction RPG” Project Pantheon
Wolcen Studio has announced Project Pantheon, a free-to-play action RPG incorporating extraction shooter mechanics. A closed alpha test begins January 25th in Europe, expanding to North America on February 1st.
Game director Andrei Cirkulete describes the game as a blend of "the tension and risk-reward of an extraction shooter with the battle dynamics of a combat RPG," hinting at influences from titles like Diablo and Escape from Tarkov. Player feedback is highly valued during this alpha phase.
Players assume the role of a Death messenger, tasked with restoring order to a ravaged world. Gameplay involves battling AI and other players across diverse maps. Successful extractions preserve earned trophies, while failed attempts result in complete loot loss.
The game offers extensive customization, allowing players to build their own bases, personalize equipment, and experiment with various playstyles. The game world draws inspiration from global mythologies, with player trading forming the core of its economy.
The initial adventure unfolds in "Destiny's Edge," a region inspired by Scandinavian folklore. Even in its early alpha stage, the developers plan to actively engage the community to shape the game's development.
