In the immersive world of Hyper Light Breaker, mastering the game's seven resources is crucial for enhancing your gameplay. Whether you're aiming to upgrade your gear, unlock permanent enhancements, boost your survival chances, or expand your character collection, understanding how to acquire and utilize these resources is essential. This guide breaks down each resource, providing clear instructions on how to obtain them and their in-game applications.

Resources are neatly stored under the items tab in your inventory menu, making it easy to keep track of your collection.

How to Get & Use Bright Blood in Hyper Light Breaker

Bright Blood, the most abundant resource in Hyper Light Breaker, can be collected by defeating enemies, smashing destructible objects, and unlocking crates within the Overgrowth. Additionally, you can convert gear into Bright Blood by selling it to vendors in the Hub.

Bright Blood serves multiple purposes, including:

  • Extracting Blades and Rails from fallen enemies in the Overgrowth.
  • Unlocking Stashes and other crates in the Overgrowth.
  • Buying new gear from vendors located in both the Overgrowth and Hub.
  • Upgrading your gear at the Hub's vendors.

How to Get & Use Gold Ration in Hyper Light Breaker

Gold Rations are earned by completing Cycles. Early in the game, expect to complete a Cycle by exhausting all four Rezes. Once your Rezes are depleted, find the NPC at the Telepad in the Hub and provide the requested materials to reset the Overgrowth, which aids in your progress toward earning Gold Rations.

Gold Rations are key to the game's meta-progression system. You can use them to unlock permanent upgrades at Pherus Bit in the Hub. Moreover, giving Gold Rations to the Hub's vendors can unlock new services for you.

How to Get & Use Abyss Stone in Hyper Light Breaker

Abyss Stones are awarded for defeating Crowns, formidable bosses accessible through gates in the Overgrowth. To challenge these bosses, you must first collect Prism, which are marked by yellow diamonds on the in-game map.

Like Gold Rations, Abyss Stones are used for meta-progression. They allow you to upgrade the stats of your Sycoms and unlock new characters during loadout confirmation before entering the Overgrowth, giving you an edge in future adventures.

How to Get & Use Key in Hyper Light Breaker

Keys can occasionally be found in small containers scattered throughout the Overgrowth. These containers are not marked on the map, making Keys somewhat elusive.

Keys are vital for bypassing barriers that block access to Stashes and other lootable containers. They also grant entry to Labs, underground areas filled with enemies and valuable items.

How to Get & Use MediGem in Hyper Light Breaker

MediGems are crucial resources obtained from glowing flowers in the Overgrowth. They are essential because they can be traded for Medkits at the Hub's Telepad and at Shrines in the Overgrowth.

To utilize MediGems, you must first expand your Medkit capacity to one. This can be done by visiting Pherus Bit in the Hub and spending one Gold Ration to unlock the Medkit Capacity node.

How to Get & Use Core in Hyper Light Breaker

Cores are another meta-progression resource found in Stashes (marked with chest icons on the map) within the Overgrowth. Additionally, you can create Cores by combining four Core Shards, which are obtained from defeating Prism-awarding enemies and from unmarked objects like bone piles.

Cores are used to upgrade your Sycom during loadout confirmation, enhancing your Breaker's stats before you venture into the Overgrowth.

How to Get & Use Material in Hyper Light Breaker

Materials are primarily acquired by using Bright Blood to open small chests in the Overgrowth, often marked with gems on the map. You can also gain additional Materials by selling gear to vendors in the Hub.

Materials allow you to purchase gear from vendors in both the Hub and the Overgrowth, though their utility is more focused compared to Bright Blood.
