Application Description
A simple non-field RPG: Escape the cursed forest. This game challenges you to escape a cursed forest as the village's best hunter.
Prologue: You've journeyed to a hunting tournament near the royal capital, only to find the forest eerily deserted. All that remains are the remnants of a large hunting camp. The national guard, responsible for the tournament, has vanished. Your attempts to find your way back to the entrance prove futile; the forest seems to twist and turn, leading you back to the same locations. This is no ordinary situation.
What is the "Elven Curse"?
This non-field RPG casts you as a hunter seeking escape from a cursed forest. Gameplay is streamlined, using a maximum of three buttons outside the main menu.
Character Creation:
While character customization is limited, you can reroll stats as often as needed. Stat increases per level-up are only visible on this screen and cannot be checked in-game. This information is accessible via the return item in-game. If your "talismans" fall below 2, or your life force reaches zero, your character is lost.
Foria, the Peddler Quarter-Elf:
A mysterious boy (or perhaps something more) encountered in the forest. Despite his childlike appearance, he claims to be older than you and, while seemingly uninvolved, secretly aids your escape by harnessing the forest's ancient spirits.
Game Features:
- Narrative: The prologue unfolds smoothly, reminiscent of a picture story. Foria's dialogue is cheerful, contrasting with the game's overall quiet, suggestive atmosphere.
- Exploration: Progress is made by exploring unexplored areas, with success determined by "fog depth" and your character's stats. If your life force is depleted, you can use poison to restore it, or use rare "talismans" to return to Foria.
- Hunter Battles: The forest teems with creatures, from wolves and wild dogs to surprisingly aggressive frogs and rabbits. Defeating them yields hides for trading with Foria. Unlike typical RPGs, combat is not necessary for leveling up. Battles are entirely avoidable (though it requires luck or skillful play). Combat involves maintaining distance to attack with your bow and arrow, or using wound medicine. If caught, you must either withdraw or use a "flash" ball provided by Foria.
- Cloak System: Craft a cloak using collected branches, resin, and leather. Layering up to three cloaks increases your abilities, and in rare cases, restores vitality. Note that cloaks can tear and become unusable. This is the only equipment variation in the game.
- Skill Selection: Choose from a variety of randomly presented skills.
- Save System: The game features an autosave system, but the timing is incomplete (e.g., no saving during battles). For reliable saves, close the app from the base menu.
Version 1.2 Update (December 18, 2024): Fixed a bug causing unexpected transitions to the character creation mode. Previous updates included bug fixes, text corrections, and credit additions.
