Kids embark on a journey to Mexico to celebrate the vibrant holidays of Día de los Muertos and Halloween.

Your adventure to the world of the dead begins now! Set in Mexico during the Day of the Dead—Día de los Muertos—our story follows Hippo as she visits her grandmother's ranch, where preparations for the festivities are in full swing. The country comes alive with brilliant colors, sugar skulls, lively music, dancing skeletons, and a host of fantastic monsters.

However, these creatures are far from frightening—they're actually the friendly local residents! Día de los Muertos is quite different from the widely celebrated Halloween. Here, there's no need to scare strangers, collect candy, or tell spooky tales, traditions commonly associated with Halloween. Instead, this day is a heartfelt tribute to the departed. Locals believe that on this day, the souls of deceased relatives and ancestors can return to visit their homes. Originating from the ancient rituals of the Maya and Aztecs, every household performs unique traditions. A centerpiece of the celebration is the ofrenda, a special altar erected in each home. Hippo's family places their ofrenda around a massive dead tree in the backyard. But this year, the holiday ritual is unexpectedly disrupted when the children accidentally fall into a hollow in the tree and find themselves transported to the Land of the Dead! From this moment on, their mysterious and thrilling adventures unfold. Be prepared for a journey where puzzles and secrets await at every turn!
