  • Fans can try out a fresh demo and collect exclusive merchandise
  • Better performance earns more tokens and access to special giveaways

Rubberhose animation seems to be having a major moment right now. From the classic style of Cuphead to today’s feature, Acecraft: Sky Hero! This cartoon-inspired take on a beloved genre offers a unique twist—and if you're curious about this bullet-hell shooter, you’ll be excited to hear Acecraft is coming to PAX 2025 with a brand-new playable demo.

The influence of Cuphead is clear in Acecraft, thanks to its film-grain filter, stylish animation, and equally quirky boss designs. But Acecraft is far from a simple clone. Instead, it dives into top-down, Galaga-style bullet-hell action rather than sticking to 2D platforming.

At PAX 2025, attendees will get the chance to go hands-on with Acecraft. And there’s a reward: the better you perform, the more tokens you earn. These tokens can be exchanged for exclusive Acecraft merchandise only available at PAX 2025, with higher-tier rewards offering even more tokens based on your demo performance.

Get ready for takeoff!

Acecraft launches on August 28th, just one day before PAX West kicks off on the 29th. I’m sure some of you will log plenty of playtime to secure top scores before trying the demo on-site. It’s also interesting to see merchandise play such a key role for a mobile-first title like Acecraft.

It’s worth noting, too, how PAX—alongside events like Gamescom—has stepped up to fill the void left by E3. Has that shift helped give mobile gaming a more prominent spot on the main stage? Something to think about.

And what about bullet hell? Isn’t bullet heaven the trending genre now? Truth is, both have their place. But if you prefer being the one dishing out the fire, why not explore our list of top bullet heaven games, including genre-defining titles like Vampire Survivors, for some inspiration?
