Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Winds Down
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is Closing Down – But Not Entirely!
You read that right! Nintendo has announced the end of online services for its popular mobile game, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. Players are understandably surprised, but the news is not all bad.
The Shutdown Date:
Online services for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp will cease on November 28th, 2024. This means no more Leaf Tickets, no more Pocket Camp Club memberships (auto-renewals stop October 28th – no refunds after that date, but you'll receive a commemorative badge!), and no more online interactions with friends. Your final chance to purchase Leaf Tickets is November 26th. The official end of online play is November 28th at 7:00 AM PST.
The Silver Lining: An Offline Version!
While online services are ending, Nintendo plans to release a paid offline version of the game. This version will lack some features, such as the Market Box, gifting, and visiting friends' campsites. However, you'll retain your saved progress and be able to continue playing without an internet connection. Expect more details around October 2024.
Part of a Larger Trend:
This closure follows a pattern of Nintendo phasing out mobile games. Dr. Mario World and Dragalia Lost have already met similar fates, and Mario Kart Tour is currently in maintenance mode.
Final Thoughts:
If you're a Pocket Camp player, now's the time to enjoy those final moments! Download the game from the Google Play Store and make the most of the remaining time before the online servers shut down. Stay tuned for our upcoming article on Netflix's Monument Valley 3!
