Black Ops 6 Zombies: New Tomb Map & Quality-of-Life Updates
Treyarch is celebrating 115 Day with a flurry of announcements for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, including the unveiling of a brand-new map: The Tomb.
This January 15th celebration offers Call of Duty players a comprehensive blog detailing upcoming zombie-themed surprises. The highlight is The Tomb, a desert-themed Zombies map launching with Season 2 on January 28th. This marks another exciting addition to the Zombies universe, following Season 1's Citadelle des Morts, and arrives in less than two weeks.
The Tomb is described as a mysterious location linked to a British archaeologist, Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe, though further story details remain scarce.
Gameplay-wise, The Tomb offers a similar experience to Liberty Falls—the bright, smaller map from Black Ops 6's October launch. Treyarch promises tighter play spaces emphasizing replayability and numerous hidden Easter eggs.
Season 2 also introduces a reimagined Wonder Weapon, inspired by previous iterations, and the return of a classic SMG. Specific details on both remain under wraps.
Further enhancements include highly requested quality-of-life improvements. Players can now track up to 10 Calling Card challenges and 10 Camo challenges across Zombies and Multiplayer. Zombies mode gains a co-op pause feature, allowing the party leader to pause mid-game. Season 2 will also separate HUD presets for Zombies and Multiplayer, and allow players to rejoin Zombies matches with their loadouts if disconnected.

To celebrate 115 Day, Black Ops 6 players receive double GobbleGum earn rates and double player, weapon, and Battle Pass XP until 10 AM PT on January 21st. Treyarch also shared Directed Mode statistics, revealing players have logged over 480 million hours in Black Ops 6 Zombies.
The team explains their goal for Directed Mode was to grow the Zombies community by guiding new players through Main Quests, increasing the storyline accessibility and fostering a love for Zombies. The results are promising; the average Main Quest completion rate has more than doubled since launch, rising from 3.38% to 8.23%.
The voices of the Zombies characters in The Tomb are noteworthy, following Activision's acknowledgment of recasting some beloved characters amidst the SAG-AFTRA strike.
