Breaking: 'Black Ops 6' Unveils Infection, Nuketown Updates
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 receives classic modes and map updates, addressing post-launch issues. Just days after its release, Treyarch announced the addition of fan-favorite Infection mode and the iconic Nuketown map.
Infection and Nuketown Arrive This Week
Infection mode, a staple in the Call of Duty franchise, arrives tomorrow, October 31st. This mode pits surviving players against AI-controlled zombies. Following closely behind, on November 1st, the highly anticipated Nuketown map makes its return. Inspired by 1950s US nuclear test sites, Nuketown first appeared in Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010) and has been a player favorite ever since. Activision previously confirmed plans for regular post-launch content additions. Black Ops 6 launched with 11 standard multiplayer modes, including variations with disabled Scorestreaks and a Hardcore mode.
Black Ops 6 Update Addresses Post-Launch Bugs
A recent update tackled various issues reported by players. Key improvements include increased XP and weapon XP rates in several popular modes (Team Deathmatch, Control, Search & Destroy, and Gunfight). The developers stated they are closely monitoring XP rates across all modes. Here's a summary of resolved issues:
- Global: Fixed loadout highlighting, Bailey's Operator animation, and the "Mute Licensed Music" setting.
- Maps: Addressed exploits allowing players to leave the intended play area in Babylon, Lowtown, and Red Card. Improved Red Card stability and general in-game interaction stability.
- Multiplayer: Resolved matchmaking issues preventing quick player replacements, fixed a Private Match forfeit bug, and addressed a continuous Dreadnought missile sound effect.
While some issues remain (like the Search & Destroy loadout death bug), developers Treyarch and Raven Software are working on further patches. Despite these minor post-launch hiccups, Black Ops 6 is considered one of the best recent Call of Duty titles, particularly praising its enjoyable campaign.
