Spider-Man: No Way Home Launches on iOS
- No Way Home has launched beyond Apple Arcade and is now available on iOS for everyone
- Immerse yourself in a captivating, hand-drawn space shooter adventure
- Battle waves of enemies, explore at your leisure, and accomplish missions
Despite its incredible releases (and there are some truly excellent ones), Apple Arcade shares a fundamental weakness with all subscription gaming services: they typically demand exclusivity. So if a particular game catches your eye but nothing else appeals, you either subscribe just for that title or miss out entirely.
Occasionally, though, a game breaks free after its exclusive period, as No Way Home by SMG Studio has done. This intense twin-stick space shooter is rich with hand-drawn charm and an equally engaging narrative.
Set in deep space, you assume the role of a captain aboard an astral liner that suddenly becomes frozen solid. Ejected by the ship's AI just before an asteroid field obliterates it, you're left stranded in a profoundly alien environment—truly with no way home.
Shoot 'em upUnlike conventional twin-stick shooters that emphasize fast-paced, action-packed levels, No Way Home leans more toward the exploratory style of Elite: Dangerous than the arcade simplicity of Galaga. You'll navigate through space, engaging in combat while uncovering the mysteries of your surroundings and completing missions.
In my view, there's a touch of Sunless Sea in No Way Home that I find quite appealing. The blend of intense combat with a deeper storyline, exploration, and varied objectives beyond mere destruction creates a compelling experience that many will be thrilled to see on the standard App Store.
