"Days Gone Remastered: New Feature Allows Game Speed Adjustment"

Author : Hazel Update : May 13,2025

Days Gone Remastered is on the horizon, and Sony's Bend Studio has recently shared insights into the accessibility features set to enhance the gameplay experience. One standout feature is the ability to adjust the Game Speed, allowing players to slow down the action when things heat up. In a detailed post on the PlayStation Blog, Kevin McAllister, Bend Studio's Creative & Product Lead, highlighted this and other accessibility options coming to the remastered version.

The Game Speed feature enables players to scale the gameplay speed from 100% down to as low as 25%. This adjustment is particularly beneficial for players who may find themselves overwhelmed during intense encounters, such as battling the notorious Freaker hordes. "Game Speed is ideal for players who might feel overwhelmed in certain situations or have difficulty with various inputs in high-pressure moments, specifically fighting off hordes of Freakers," McAllister explained. With the new Horde Assault mode introduced in the remaster, this feature aims to make the thrilling combat more accessible to a wider audience.

Beyond Game Speed, Days Gone Remastered will boast a suite of accessibility enhancements including customizable subtitle colors, a High Contrast Mode, UI Narration, and Collectible Audio Cues. Additionally, the auto-complete QTE option, previously exclusive to Easy difficulty, will now be available across all difficulty levels, from Easy to Survival II.

Bend Studio also confirmed that most of these new accessibility features will make their way to the PC version of Days Gone. However, certain features like feedback and customization control options will require a compatible controller to function fully.

Announced back in February, Days Gone Remastered comes packed with additional features such as an enhanced photo mode, permadeath, and speedrun options, alongside the comprehensive accessibility enhancements. This remaster of the beloved 2019 post-apocalyptic zombie action-adventure game is set to launch on April 25, 2025. Players who already own the PS4 version will have the opportunity to upgrade to the PS5 remastered version for just $10, making it an accessible upgrade for existing fans.
