Although Pitchford initially deleted the video and reposted, the message was clear: development is going exceptionally well, leading to this accelerated release schedule. The official Borderlands 4 Twitter (X) account confirmed the new date, stating, "After careful consideration–along with A LOT of meetings, playtestings, and incredible development work–we have made the monumental decision to MOVE UP THE LAUNCH DATE OF BORDERLANDS 4 to SEPTEMBER 12."
