The Surprising FIFA x Konami Partnership
This collaboration is a significant development after years of rivalry. Recall that EA and FIFA ended their decade-long partnership in 2022 due to a disagreement over licensing fees. FIFA's demand of $1 billion every four years (a substantial increase from the previous $150 million) led to the split. This resulted in the launch of EA Sports FC 24 in 2023 without the FIFA branding. Now, FIFA has unexpectedly partnered with Konami's eFootball for the FIFAe World Cup 2024.
