Elden Ring Nightreign Testers Discover the Fell Omen Is Back via Morgott Jump-Scare Invasions

The Fell Omen bosses of Elden Ring have earned a notorious reputation, and it's thrilling to see FromSoftware unleash them anew in Elden Ring Nightreign, spreading chaos across the Lands Between.

Morgott, a familiar foe from Elden Ring's campaign, continues to haunt players in Nightreign. His phantom versions that unexpectedly appear in the original game have evolved into jump-scare invasions in this new installment, with an unnamed Fell Omen—essentially an enhanced version of Morgott—ready to ambush players at any moment.

Morgott isn't the sole invader in Nightreign, but he's certainly a fitting choice. His sudden appearances echo his behavior in Elden Ring, and he's been given new voice lines and additional moves to keep players on their toes. It's a fair match when you can bring friends into the fray; Morgott deserves his upgrades.

Beyond his invasive tendencies, the Fell Omen can also serve as a formidable end-of-night boss, challenging players as the sun dips below the horizon during the Elden Ring Nightreign test.

Early testers, including the renowned Let Me Solo Her, faced off against the Fell Omen during the Elden Ring Nightreign sessions. The community's verdict? Morgott, also known as Margit or the Fell Omen, continues to be a formidable adversary.

On the Elden Ring Nightreign subreddit, players praised Morgott's invasion mechanic as a standout feature. Numerous threads highlighted different locations where players were caught off guard by Morgott's appearances, whether at the end of a night, on an elevator, or within a tower, often leading to amusing outcomes.

The unexpected invasions by the Fell Omen have sparked interest in seeing other iconic enemies make similar surprise attacks. The Pursuer from Dark Souls 2 is a popular suggestion, while I personally yearn for Hunters from Bloodborne to join the fray, though that seems like a distant dream.

There may be more to the Fell Omen invasions than meets the eye. GamesRadar reported on an invasion where the Omen not only defeated a co-op partner but also left a curse mark on the fallen player. As more players dive into the game, we can look forward to uncovering further intricacies.

Despite server issues during the first network test, many players managed to explore the Lands Between over the weekend. The full scope of Elden Ring Nightreign won't be revealed until its release on May 30, but in the meantime, be sure to check out our hands-on impressions here.
