Engineers to Care for Grogu in New Mandalorian-Themed Millennium Falcon Update - Star Wars Celebration

Author : Aaron Update : Jul 23,2025

Star Wars Celebration has unveiled exciting new details about the upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu-themed update coming to Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run, set to launch on May 22, 2026. This immersive experience will coincide with the release of the highly anticipated film and expand the adventure beyond the big screen with a dynamic, choose-your-own-adventure-style storyline.

In this new mission, guests will team up with Din Djarin and Grogu for a high-stakes galactic pursuit. The plot kicks off when Hondo Ohnaka catches wind of a secret deal between ex-Imperial officers and pirates on Tatooine, prompting a thrilling chase across the stars. Players will join Mando and Grogu to track down the suspects and claim a valuable bounty in a fast-paced, branching narrative that spans multiple iconic planets.

For the first time, players will visit Coruscant in this interactive experience, joining previously featured destinations like Tatooine, Bespin, and Endor. The story will take a unique path distinct from the events of The Mandalorian & Grogu movie, offering fresh encounters and new adventures with both beloved characters.

Expanded Role for Engineers: Caring for Grogu

One of the most exciting updates is the enhanced role for the Engineer station. This time around, Engineers won’t just manage systems—they’ll be directly responsible for looking after Grogu. As Asa Kalama of Walt Disney Imagineering shared, “We're giving engineers the opportunity to actually communicate with Grogu. It’s going to be a ton of fun.”

There may be moments when Mando needs to leave the Razor Crest, leaving Grogu curious—and mischievous—around the control panel. Engineers will get to interact with him via in-ship comms, creating playful, spontaneous moments that bring the experience to life.

Choose-Your-Own-Adventure Gameplay

The mission features pivotal decision points that shape the journey. As Kalama explained, “There’s a critical moment where you’re strapped for time and must quickly choose which bounty to pursue. That decision determines which destinations you’ll visit and how the adventure unfolds.” This branching structure ensures a unique experience with each playthrough.
