Fun Dog Studios has unveiled a significant update for their extraction-survival game, The Forever Winter, titled "The Descent to Averno is Easy," which is now available in early access. This patch brings pivotal changes to core mechanics, promising to enrich gameplay depth and elevate the overall player experience.

A standout feature of this update is the revamped water system. No longer consumed in real-time, water now functions as a currency for accessing various regions within the game. The cost of entry fluctuates daily, adding a strategic layer to gameplay. Players have the option to trade water with teammates before matches, which influences the approach to quest rewards and resource distribution across the map. Those who amassed water reserves prior to the update will be rewarded with a special bonus from the developers in upcoming updates.

The update also brings substantial enhancements to combat mechanics. Adjustments to recoil, accuracy, weapon sway, and handling have been made, complemented by refined aiming mechanics, smoother reload animations, and a rebalanced shotgun system. These improvements are currently applied to several weapons, with plans to extend them across the entire arsenal in future updates.
