Formovie Episode One: A Projection Breakthrough?
Here at Droid Gamers, we evaluate all sorts of tech, but a projector is a first for us. The Formovie Episode One projector caught our attention as an interesting way to stream mobile games on a larger screen.
Market as an affordable option in a typically expensive product category, the Episode One largely delivers on its budget-friendly promise—despite some compromises.
The package includes the projector, a remote (requires separate batteries), power cable, and manual. While it has decent heft at three pounds, it remains portable enough for on-the-go entertainment.
The connectivity options are limited to one USB-A port, one HDMI input, and an audio jack—which reflects the price point but covers basic needs.
Performance-wise, the 150 ISO lumen projector holds its own in its class. While it's no match for premium laser projectors, it delivers satisfactory results.

Our testing revealed the expected limitations—struggling in bright daylight but performing adequately in darker conditions. Both movies and streamed games appeared sufficiently clear and responsive.
For optimal results, we recommend positioning the projector at least 10 feet from the screen. The built-in speaker leaves room for improvement, being functional but tinny—connecting external speakers significantly enhances the audio experience.
The user interface stands out as surprisingly intuitive compared to premium competitors' often convoluted systems. The simplified, budget-conscious design actually enhances usability.
As an entry-level projector, the Formovie Episode One offers solid value. While it won't rival high-end models, it capably serves casual users looking for an affordable introduction to projectors.
