Game Pass Overhauls Quests and Rewards
Enhanced Xbox Game Pass Rewards Program Launches January 7th
Starting January 7th, Xbox Game Pass is significantly upgrading its rewards program, introducing Quests to PC Game Pass users and enhancing point-earning opportunities. However, access to these new features is restricted to players aged 18 and older.
This update aims to provide age-appropriate gaming experiences. Previously exclusive to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, the Quests system will now be available to PC Game Pass subscribers, offering expanded ways to earn points redeemable for various rewards. Eligible players (18+) with active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass subscriptions can access Xbox Quests and the Rewards Hub through their profiles. A minimum playtime of 15 minutes per game is required to earn points, and participation is limited to titles within the Game Pass catalog (excluding those using third-party launchers).
Key Changes to Game Pass Quests and Rewards:
- PC Game Pass Quest Access: Available starting January 7th.
- New Quest Types:
- Daily Play: Earn 10 points daily by playing any Game Pass title for at least 15 minutes.
- Weekly Streaks: Play for at least five days a week to earn points; longer streaks (up to 4 weeks) yield progressively larger point multipliers (2x, 3x, and 4x respectively).
- Monthly 4-Pack & 8-Pack: Explore the Game Pass catalog by playing four or eight different games (15 minutes each) monthly. The 4-Pack games count towards the 8-Pack.
- PC Weekly Bonus: Earn 150 points by playing for at least 15 minutes on 5 or more days of the week.
- Age Restriction: The Rewards Hub (used for tracking and earning points on Xbox consoles, the Xbox app for Windows PC, and the Xbox mobile app) is no longer accessible to players under 18.
The revamped system simplifies point earning with daily, weekly, and monthly opportunities, including the return of weekly streaks and point multipliers. Players can earn points daily through gameplay or by exploring a diverse selection of games monthly.
Microsoft emphasizes its commitment to age-appropriate content. Players under 18 will not have access to these new rewards. The only way for younger players to earn rewards is through parentally-approved purchases of eligible items from the Microsoft Store. This update aims to provide engaging and accessible ways for eligible players to maximize their Game Pass subscription.
