Gears of War: Reloaded Beta Expands With New Maps, Modes
Gears of War: Reloaded's upcoming beta weekend is getting extended with more content, as developer The Coalition responds to community feedback.
"We heard you," the studio announced on social media. "More maps, more modes, more time to play."
As a result, this weekend's multiplayer beta has been extended — it now runs from Friday, June 20 at 12 PM PDT to Sunday, June 22 at 9 PM PDT. Execution mode has also been added, joining King of the Hill on Gridlock, Raven Down (Courtyard and War Machine), and Canals. Team Deathmatch will be available on the same maps through social matchmaking, with Gold Rush also included.
These additions may not fully address player concerns about server stability, but that’s precisely what beta tests are designed to uncover. Experiencing issues now is better than encountering them at launch in a few weeks.
Last month, Microsoft confirmed that Gears of War: Reloaded, a remaster of the 2006 original, will release on August 26 for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. This enhanced edition features upgraded visuals and audio, crossplay and cross-progression support, plus all the DLC from Gears of War: Ultimate Edition.
As a thank-you to dedicated fans, Gears of War: Reloaded will be a free upgrade for anyone who purchased the digital version of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition before the announcement. Eligible players will receive a code via DM from Xbox prior to release.

"As we near Gears of War's 20th anniversary in 2026, we’re reflecting on what this franchise represents — the stories we’ve told, the friendships forged, and the unforgettable moments shared. With Gears of War: Reloaded, we're welcoming more players than ever before," said Mike Crump, studio head at The Coalition, in the announcement.
