New Guide Unveils Method to Capture Shroodle in Pokémon GO

Author : Nora Update : Feb 19,2025

The new year in Pokémon GO has brought a wave of exciting Pokémon for trainers to catch. Following Fidough's arrival, Shroodle is the next Pokémon to join the roster, but obtaining it isn't as simple as a standard wild encounter.

Shroodle's Pokémon GO Debut

The Poison-type Shroodle arrives in Pokémon GO on January 15, 2025, as part of the Fashion Week: Taken Over event. Originally introduced in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, it's a relatively new addition to the Pokémon world. Post-event, Shroodle will remain accessible to players.

Shiny Shroodle?

Unlike some recent Pokémon releases, Shroodle will not have a Shiny variant available at launch. Its Shiny form will likely appear in a future event, possibly one focused on Poison-types or Team GO Rocket.

How to Catch Shroodle

Breaking from the usual wild spawn pattern, Shroodle is exclusively obtainable by hatching 12KM Eggs. This method is currently the only way to acquire Shroodle in Pokémon GO.

12KM Eggs collected from 12 AM local time on January 15th onward have a chance to hatch into Shroodle. The likelihood will be higher during the Fashion Week: Taken Over event, but it should remain in the 12KM egg pool afterwards.

Acquiring 12KM Eggs

Given Shroodle's exclusive hatching method, a reminder on obtaining 12KM Eggs is helpful. These are rare eggs, and only obtainable by defeating Team GO Rocket Leaders (Sierra, Arlo, Cliff) or Giovanni. The Taken Over event presents an ideal opportunity to stockpile 12KM Eggs, as Team GO Rocket activity increases, making Rocket Radars easier to acquire. However, you can battle GO Rocket Grunts at any time to earn a 12KM Egg, provided you have inventory space.

Obtaining Grafaiai

Shroodle's evolution, Grafaiai, also debuts on January 15th. It won't hatch from eggs or appear in the wild; evolution is the only method. Evolving a Shroodle requires 50 Shroodle Candy, necessitating hatching multiple Shroodle or using it as your buddy Pokémon.
