Hope Remains for The Last of Us 3 Release
The fervent community of The Last of Us fans were still reeling from the unexpected remarks made by Neil Druckmann, who had recently suggested that a new game in the series might not be forthcoming. However, just as hope seemed to fade, whispers of a potential continuation began to circulate. Renowned insider Daniel Richtman dropped a bombshell, claiming that not only is the next installment in development, but casting has already begun, and some scenes have even been shot.

While Druckmann's earlier comments left much room for interpretation, the validity of these rumors cannot be entirely dismissed. For one, when he stated there wouldn't be a "next The Last of Us," he may have been referring to the sequel already in progress. Additionally, this isn’t the first time he has hinted at uncertainty regarding future projects—similar cryptic messages were issued prior to the release of Part II. That said, Richtman’s track record includes both accurate and inaccurate leaks, leaving the situation shrouded in mystery.
That being said, it is widely acknowledged that at least a conceptual framework for the new project exists. Meanwhile, Naughty Dog seems focused on promoting their upcoming title, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, suggesting that any formal announcements about the rumored sequel might remain on hold for the time being.
