Holding On To Marvel's Wolverine Updates

Insomniac outlined their studio's roadmap but maintained secrecy regarding their eagerly awaited title, Marvel's Wolverine. Speaking to Variety, Co-Head Chad Dezern stated that while the new team is tackling "exciting projects with an ambitious roadmap," they're staying focused on current work and aren't prepared to share details about upcoming releases, neither confirming nor denying a potential 2025 launch for Marvel's Wolverine.

"As excited as we are, we need to maintain confidentiality for now."

Marvel's Wolverine First Announced in 2021

Marvel's Wolverine debuted during the 2021 PlayStation Showcase through a cinematic teaser trailer, confirming its development for PlayStation 5.

During a 2023 discussion with the Kinda Funny YouTube group, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Creative Director Bryan Intihar addressed questions about Wolverine's progress. Intihar verified that Marvel's Wolverine shares the same universe as Marvel's Spider-Man (Earth-1048). While both games were announced during the same 2021 showcase, the only crossover element so far has been Miles Morales' Wolverine-inspired suit, "The Best There Is," in Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

December 2023 saw Insomniac Games experience a significant data breach when hackers accessed and temporarily leaked Marvel's Wolverine development materials and gameplay footage.

Insomniac Games Current Projects

The PC version of Spider-Man 2 arrives on January 30, 2025, as revealed at New York Comic-Con 2025. Insomiac has clarified that "no additional story DLC is planned for Marvel's Spider-Man 2." However, the PC release will incorporate all post-launch updates from the PS5 version, including new suits, New Game+ mode, and other enhancements. Two editions will be available: Standard and Digital Deluxe, the latter offering exclusive suits for Peter Parker and Miles Morales.
