Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair Returns with New Anime Scene

Author : Aaliyah Update : Jan 09,2026

This December, Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair will have its first-ever nationwide theatrical release.

Originally released as two separate volumes, Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill films will be re-released by Lionsgate as a single, complete movie on December 5, 2025. According to Lionsgate, Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair eliminates the cliffhanger that concluded Vol. 1 and the recap that opened Vol. 2. Most notably for fans, the new version includes a previously unreleased animated sequence running approximately seven and a half minutes.

Select screenings will be available in 70mm and 35mm formats, and Lionsgate expects the film to be shown in all major markets.

Tarantino shared his perspective, stating, “I originally wrote and directed it as a single film—and I'm thrilled fans will finally experience it that way. Seeing Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair in a theater, presented in stunning 70mm or 35mm, is the ultimate way to watch. It’s blood and guts in all their big-screen glory!”

Kill Bill Vol. 1 premiered 22 years ago, on October 10, 2003, and remains one of Tarantino's most acclaimed works. This tribute to classic kung fu cinema follows Uma Thurman as The Bride on a brutal quest for vengeance, filled with unforgettable quotes, Hattori Hanzō swords, and graphic decapitations. Vol. 2, released in 2004, brought The Bride’s story to a close, balancing hard-hitting dialogue with intense action.

The late Michael Madsen delivered a scene-stealing performance as Bill’s brother, Budd. His character delivers what is often considered the most memorable line from the films—one that frequently appears at the top of online lists of the best Kill Bill quotes: “That woman deserves her revenge and we deserve to die."
