LEGO Launches Large-Scale Jurassic Park T-Rex Model
LEGO has unveiled its largest Jurassic World set to date: an impressive T-rex skeleton measuring over three feet in length. The set includes minifigures of Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant, key characters from the original Jurassic Park film, where the skeleton is featured in the visitor center. Priced at $249.99, it will be available exclusively at the LEGO Store on March 12 for LEGO Insiders (free to join) and on March 15 for the general public.

With 3,145 pieces, this set is designed for ages 18 and up, emphasizing display over play. It may incorporate advanced building techniques that could challenge younger builders.
Pictures alone don't fully convey the set's impressive scale. While the minifigures of Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler provide some context, the fully assembled skeleton spans more than three feet. The skull closely resembles the existing LEGO T-rex skull set (which my son built and enjoyed), but the full skeleton elevates the overall impact of this new release.

The skeleton features articulated joints, allowing for dynamic posing. The head swivels, the jaw opens, and the arms and tail can be adjusted. As with many LEGO movie-themed sets, builders will discover hidden Easter eggs during assembly. The set includes a display stand and an informational plaque detailing the T-rex's diet, habitat, and other facts.
