Luigi’s Mansion 3 (2019)
Luigi's first starring role on the Switch came with Luigi’s Mansion 3, the third installment in his solo ghostbusting series. Here, Luigi and his green gooey clone, Gooigi, team up with Professor E. Gadd to battle ghosts and rescue his friends from King Boo's haunted hotel.
Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD (2024)
Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD is a refreshed version of the 2013 Nintendo 3DS game, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon. In this sequel, Luigi explores the haunted mansions of Evershade Valley, capturing ghosts and thwarting King Boo's plans to save his brother once more.
Mario & Luigi: Brothership (2024)
Though not solely a Luigi game, Mario & Luigi: Brothership showcases both brothers equally. It's the first new entry in the Mario & Luigi series since Paper Jam in 2014, where players control both brothers to solve puzzles and navigate platforming challenges in the kingdom of Concordia.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (2017)
Luigi debuted as a playable character on the Switch with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. As a middleweight racer, he offers balanced stats with a slight edge in speed and handling. His iconic appearance in an ad for the original Wii U version led to the famous Luigi Death Stare meme.
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle (2017)
Luigi made his mark in the Nintendo-Ubisoft collaboration Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. This tactical RPG lets you play as both Luigi and his quirky counterpart, Rabbid Luigi, adding a fun twist to the team dynamics.
Mario Tennis Aces (2018)
Luigi served up some fun in Mario Tennis Aces as one of 16 launch characters. Known for his balanced playstyle in Mario sports games, Luigi's specialty shot, Pipe Cannon, launches him into the air for a powerful spike.
Super Mario Party (2018)
Luigi joined the party in Super Mario Party as one of 20 playable characters. A staple in every Mario Party game, he continues to be a fan favorite. This was the first Mario Party game on the Switch and ranks as Nintendo’s ninth best-selling title on the platform, according to the company.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (2018)
Luigi is an unlockable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, appearing in all five Smash games. He's ranked as an A+-tier fighter and the 18th best overall in LumiRank’s 2025 tier list, compiled from 93 ranked Smash players' opinions.
New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe (2019)
Luigi is a playable character in New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, an expanded version of the Wii U game with the addition of New Super Luigi U. In this expansion, Luigi takes center stage with his higher jump, remixed levels, and a challenging 100-second timer per level.
Super Mario Maker 2 (2019)
In Super Mario Maker 2, Luigi joins Mario, Toad, and Toadette as one of four playable characters. This level-building platformer lets players craft their own Mario levels using assets from various classic Mario games.
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury (2021)
Like the original Wii U release, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury allows players to control Luigi throughout the game. His slightly higher jump and less traction give him a unique, floaty feel compared to Mario.
Mario Golf: Super Rush (2021)

Mario Strikers: Battle League Football (2022)
In Mario Strikers: Battle League Football, Luigi is one of 16 playable characters. His balanced playstyle and high technique make him a versatile choice on the soccer field.
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope (2022)
Luigi and Rabbid Luigi make a comeback in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. Classified as a Sneak Attacker, Luigi uses his ranged weapons effectively despite his lower health.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder (2023)
In Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Luigi serves as a playable alternative to Mario, with the only difference being aesthetic. Both brothers play identically, offering players a fresh visual take on classic gameplay.
Super Mario Party Jamboree (2024)
Luigi is back in Super Mario Party Jamboree, the largest and arguably the best in the Mario Party series. Alongside being a playable character, he's part of the new Buddy mechanic, potentially boosting players' dice rolls to 10s.
