Marvel Rivals players will start getting banned on consoles for using the keyboard and mouse
NetEase Games has announced a ban on keyboard and mouse adapters in Marvel Rivals on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. The use of adapters like XIM, Cronus Zen, Titan Two, KeyMander, and Brook Sniper, which simulate gamepad input from a keyboard and mouse, is considered a violation of the game's terms of service. This is due to the unfair competitive advantage provided by increased aiming precision and retention of aim assist.
NetEase has implemented detection tools to identify adapter use with high accuracy, resulting in account bans for violators. The company states that these devices create an imbalance, particularly in competitive game modes.
Separately, a correlation has been observed between higher FPS and increased ping in Marvel Rivals. While less noticeable at lower ping levels, a jump to 150ms from a typical 90ms can significantly impact gameplay. This issue appears linked to frame rate. Until a patch addresses this, players are advised to experiment with FPS settings, with some suggesting maintaining around 90 FPS as a temporary solution, despite this seeming low compared to other competitive titles.
