Marvel Rivals Adds Thing & Human Torch in Feb

Author : Claire Update : Mar 24,2026

Marvel Rivals completes The Fantastic Four lineup with The Thing and Human Torch arriving as playable characters on February 21, 2025.

Marvel and NetEase Games revealed today that these iconic heroes will debut alongside Season 1's mid-season update. While details about the Season 1.5 changes remain scarce, a developer blog on Marvel Rivals' official site hints at "significant balance improvements."

Players are eager to discover how The Thing and Human Torch will expand gameplay dynamics with their unique abilities. Their debut follows last month's Season 1 introduction of Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman, who revolutionized combat strategies—Reed Richards' elastic attacks and Sue Storm's stealth mechanics reshaped multiplayer tactics. Ben Grimm and Johnny Storm will likely bring similar innovation when they arrive, hopefully after NetEase shares official gameplay previews.

The February update also implements ranked play adjustments, dropping all players' standings by four divisions. A Diamond I competitor on February 20 will restart at Platinum II the next day.

NetEase outlined future competitive resets—full seasons will trigger six-division drops while mid-season updates warrant four. The developer emphasized willingness to adjust these competitive systems based on player feedback.

Competitive rewards refresh too: Gold-tier players gain exclusive costumes, while elite participants (Grandmaster through One Above All ranks) earn new Crests of Honor recognition.

The Fantastic Four marks just the start of Marvel Rivals' evolving roster. Creative director Guangyun Chen confirmed last month that new characters will debut every six weeks with seasonal updates. Community speculation strongly points to vampire hunter Blade joining next, though beyond persistent leaks fueling player debates, future additions remain officially unconfirmed.
