MGS Delta: Snake Eater Keeps MGS3's Suggestive Themes

Author : Stella Update : Nov 02,2025

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will include the suggestive and sexual content originally featured in Metal Gear Solid 3, such as the Peep Demo Theater, according to an official age rating.

Although developer Konami has not formally confirmed that the controversial content has been retained, the U.S. Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has assigned the stealth action game a Mature 17+ rating due to realistic gunfire, cries of pain, bloody combat, and suggestive/sexual material.

In addition to detailing the game's realistic combat and violence, the ESRB notes: "Cutscenes depict further instances of violence and blood: a restrained character being beaten and electrocuted; a character shot in the eye; a character set on fire and shot multiple times."

"The game contains suggestive/sexual content: a man groping a woman's breasts; close-up camera angles focusing on deep cleavage; a character briefly groping a man's crotch; a Peep Demo Theater that lets players view cutscenes of a female character's body from a first-person perspective."

The Peep Demo Theater is an unlockable extra feature in the Subsistence and HD Collection versions of the original Metal Gear Solid 3. It allows Snake to move the camera freely and zoom in during a cutscene where Eva appears in her underwear. This feature is unlocked after completing the game four times.

Konami has confirmed that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater releases on August 28, alongside a new teaser trailer that also revealed the return of the Snake vs. Monkey minigame.

"Metal Gear Solid Delta appears to be more of a highly polished HD remaster than the refined remake it had the potential to be," IGN stated in our Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater preview, which explores Snake's new first-person perspective. "It's a visually stunning nostalgia trip, yet perhaps too faithful for its own good." We gave the original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater an impressive 9.6.
