Neverness to Everness Launches First Closed Beta in China

Author : Ryan Update : May 07,2025

Hotta Studios is gearing up to launch the very first closed beta test for their eagerly anticipated 3D open-world RPG, Neverness to Everness. Unfortunately, this exciting opportunity is exclusively available to players residing in mainland China. If you're a dedicated fan of 3D RPGs outside of this region, you'll have to wait a bit longer to get your hands on this game.

According to reports from Gematsu, the closed beta will also introduce new lore elements to the game. If you've seen the trailers showcasing the city of Eibon, the latest updates shouldn't come as a surprise. The story is taking a slightly more comedic tone, and the trailers offer glimpses into how the bizarre and the everyday coexist in the world of Hetherau.

Hotta Studios, a subsidiary of Perfect World—the creators behind the successful Tower of Fantasy—is carving out a unique niche within the 3D RPG genre. Neverness to Everness aligns well with the trend towards urban settings in these games but distinguishes itself with distinctive features like open-world driving. Fans of high-speed chases can look forward to purchasing and customizing a variety of cars, though they should be cautious as in-game crashes can be as devastating as in reality.

Despite its unique offerings, Neverness to Everness will enter a competitive market. It will go head-to-head with MiHoYo's Zenless Zone Zero, which has set a high benchmark for 3D open-world RPGs on mobile platforms. Additionally, NetEase's upcoming title Ananta (formerly known as Project Mugen), developed by Naked Rain, also targets a similar setting, promising fierce competition upon release.
