Path of Exile 2's endgame presents a significant challenge. To ease the transition, developers have strategically placed hidden encounters within the main campaign. These encounters offer permanent buffs, extra passive skill points, and weapon set skill points. One such encounter, the Sisters of Garukhan, provides a valuable +10% Lightning Resistance buff. However, its location makes it easily missed. This guide explains how to locate and activate this beneficial encounter.

Where To Find the Sisters of Garukhan

The Sisters of Garukhan encounter appears twice: in Act 2 and Act 2 Cruel. Interacting with the shrine grants +10% Lightning Resistance each time. Its inconspicuous icon on the world map often leads to players overlooking it entirely.

Due to PoE 2's randomly generated maps, there's no guaranteed location within the Spires of Deshar. However, diligent exploration will reveal a shrine resembling the image above. Activating the shrine triggers a combat encounter with metallic automatons. This interaction also activates all automatons on the map.

To avoid unnecessary backtracking, utilize the checkpoint near the shrine's location if you reach the exit checkpoint first.

Claiming the +10% Lightning Resistance Buff

The +10% Lightning Resistance is applied immediately upon interacting with the shrine. It's not a dropped item or a reward for defeating the automatons; it's automatically granted upon activation.

Remember that the Sisters of Garukhan appear in both Act 2 and Act 2 Cruel. Activating the shrine in both acts yields a total of +20% Lightning Resistance.

Troubleshooting: Why the Buff Isn't Showing

Many players are confused when their resistance values remain negative despite activating the Sisters of Garukhan. This is because PoE 2 applies a -10% debuff to all elemental resistances after each completed Act (Chaos Resistance is unaffected).

Therefore, activating the shrine in Act 2 nets zero Lightning Resistance (the buff cancels the Act 1 debuff). In Act 2 Cruel, the net Lightning Resistance will be -30% after activation (-40% initial debuff + 10% buff).

To verify the buff's activation, remove all equipment and check your resistances in the endgame. A -40% elemental resistance total indicates that you have successfully completed both encounters.
