Pikmin Bloom Marks 3.5 Years with Nintendo Tribute

Pikmin Bloom is preparing to celebrate its 3.5-year anniversary next month. To mark the occasion, Niantic is reintroducing some nostalgic items into the game. The festivities will begin with a new event starting on May 1st, 2025.

This Update Is a Charming Nod to Nintendo's Classic Era!

Throughout its history, Pikmin Bloom has delighted players with creative decor items, such as Pikmin adorned with Mahjong Tiles and Playing Cards. For the 3.5-year anniversary, the game is bringing back iconic Nintendo game consoles from the 1980s and 1990s.

A new Playing Card (Clubs Suit) Decor Pikmin is also being added. This pays homage to Nintendo's origins as a playing card manufacturer before the company transitioned into video games. The designs are inspired by Nintendo's vintage playing card decks.

The event will be active from May 1st through May 31st, 2025, providing an entire month to complete missions and collect new Pikmin. Each time you complete an Event Challenge mission, you will receive random rewards such as Game Button Cells, seedlings that can grow into Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 Decor Pikmin, and flower petals.

During the event, Brilliant Mushrooms will also appear. Destroying these mushrooms rewards you with Mystery Boxes containing items like Game Button Cells, flower petals, and more. Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 or Playing Card Decor Pikmin are the most effective at defeating these mushrooms.

Pikmin Bloom's 3.5th Anniversary Also Introduces May's Big Flowers

When you plant red, yellow, white, or blue petals around the May flowers, they can bloom into carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, or anniversary roses.

A nectar update is also included, meaning that fruit gathered from mushrooms in May will provide nectar for common flowers. This applies to special flowers as well, including carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, and anniversary roses.
