The Pokémon TCG Pocket Lapras EX Drop Event: A Comprehensive Guide

Pokémon TCG Pocket constantly expands its card collection with new events introducing exciting variants and cards. This guide covers the Lapras EX drop event, detailing its duration, participation methods, rewards, optimal strategies, and more.

Event Duration:

The Lapras EX drop event runs from November 5th to November 18th, 12:59 AM Eastern Time. Players can participate in special battles to acquire new card variants and the coveted Lapras EX. Additional rewards include Pack Hourglasses for opening more booster packs.

Event Participation:

Ensure your Pokémon TCG Pocket app is updated. Navigate to the Battles tab, select Solo, and choose the "Lapras EX Drop Event" category. Four AI battles using a Lapras EX deck await. Each battle offers first-clear rewards and additional chance rewards upon repeated completion.

All decks are Water-type, making a Lightning-type deck (like the meta Pikachu EX deck) highly advantageous. Only the Expert battle guarantees a Promo Pack.

Event Hourglasses:

Event stamina, consumed per battle and replenishing every 12 hours (up to five), can be restored using Event Hourglasses earned during gameplay.

Recommended Decks and Strategies:

The Pikachu EX deck is highly effective due to Lightning-type attacks dealing bonus damage to Water-type Pokémon in the event. Alternatives include using less rare cards like Helioptile/Heliolisk or Magnemite/Magneton lines to meet challenge requirements.

Promo Pack Rewards:

Promo Packs contain one card each: Mankey, Pikachu, Clefairy, Butterfree, and Lapras EX (a new card). The first four are existing cards with new variants. Lapras EX boasts 140 HP and the "Bubble Drain" attack (80 damage, 20 HP heal).
