If you've been active on platforms like Steam, Twitch, or gaming-centric YouTube channels recently, chances are you've stumbled upon Schedule I. This indie drug dealer simulation game has taken the gaming world by storm, skyrocketing to become the top-selling title on Valve's platform. With more players than heavyweights like Monster Hunter Wilds, GTA 5, and Marvel Rivals, Schedule I has captured the attention of gamers everywhere following its viral spread across social media.

Launched just last week, Schedule I has swiftly climbed the ranks to sit atop Valve's best-selling and most-played charts. The game, developed and published by TVGS under the helm of Tyler, offers an immersive experience where players can ascend from a small-time dealer to a full-fledged kingpin in the gritty city of Hyland Point. The official description entices players with promises of manufacturing and distributing various drugs, expanding their empire through properties, businesses, and hiring employees.

Tyler, overwhelmed yet thrilled by the game's reception, shared his thoughts on Reddit. He expressed gratitude for the unexpected success and his focus on releasing patches to address any issues swiftly. "Honestly it's amazing but pretty overwhelming," Tyler remarked. "I never expected this kind of response! At the moment I'm just trying to stay focused and get patches out ASAP. Also looking forward to getting started on content updates as soon as all major bugs are patched."

In line with Tyler's commitment to improving the game, Schedule I's Post-launch Patch #4 was rolled out on March 29, tackling several employee-related bugs and multiplayer issues, enhancing the overall gameplay experience.

So, just how successful is Schedule I? It's not only the top-selling game on Steam but has outshone a range of titles from The Sims competitor inZOI to Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Given that Valve ranks its top-selling games by revenue, Schedule I's budget-friendly price tag hasn't hindered its ability to generate more income than its full-priced AAA counterparts.

In terms of player engagement, Schedule I reached a peak of 414,166 concurrent players on Steam over the weekend, securing its place among the top 30 most-played games ever on the platform. At the time of writing, it boasts more active players than Monster Hunter Wilds, GTA 5, and Marvel Rivals.

The community's reception has been nothing short of phenomenal. On Steam, Schedule I boasts an 'overwhelmingly positive' user review rating, with 98% of reviews being positive. Here are a few highlights from the community:

  • "A woman came up to me and asked for weed, didn't like the price I offered, proceeded to stab me with a broken glass bottle. 10/10"
  • "Love this game. I was dealing drugs in an RV and it blew up."
  • "Got a motel and sold some weed."
  • "Created a meth empire. Then hopped on the game."
  • "Really great and hilarious game. Fun game loop and hilarious fun when playing with friends. I know it is in early access but I'd like the police to be a bit more active (They could search your place, look for you even after escaping, run speed greater than the players) as well as gang warfare and a larger map. Still in its current state, it's brilliant. Defo a 10/10."

While Schedule I may be considered a meme game, its longevity remains to be seen. However, this won't bother Tyler, whose life has been undeniably transformed by the game's success. With substantial content updates on the horizon, the future looks bright for Schedule I.
