The roadmap is structured to deliver quarterly updates, ensuring players receive consistent information and patch notes to track the implementation of planned features directly in the game.
Building on the momentum from Q1 updates, which addressed significant issues and introduced multiple hotfixes, GSC Gameworld is committed to enhancing STALKER 2 based on community feedback. Here's what fans can look forward to in the upcoming updates:
- Beta Mod SDK Kit
- A-Life/AI Updates
- Mutant Loot
- Shader Compilation Skip
- Player Stash Window Increase
- Wide Screen Aspect Ratio Support

- STALKER Original Trilogy Next-Gen Update
Beta Mod SDK Kit, A-Life Updates, and More
GSC Gameworld has outlined a comprehensive list of updates, focusing particularly on the Beta Mod SDK Kit and A-Life system enhancements. A closed beta involving mod makers will precede the official release of the ModKit, with plans to integrate Mod.io and Steam Workshop for a seamless modding experience.
The A-Life System, crucial for the game's NPC AI and simulation, will receive continuous updates. Following a significant 110 GB Christmas patch last year, the developers are set to introduce "persistent A-Life improvements" and enhance human combat mechanics, including smarter use of cover, flanking, and limited grenade usage.
Further updates will include changes to mutant behavior, such as eating corpses and reacting to threats, along with the introduction of mutant loot. Players can also expect the option to skip shader compilation, an expanded player stash window, support for wide screen aspect ratios, the addition of two new weapons, and continued efforts toward stabilization and optimization.
Additionally, a next-gen update for the original STALKER trilogy is on the horizon. More details on these updates will be shared as their release dates approach.
