Techland Expands Dying Light 2 with Free Tower Raid Roguelite Mode
Techland's Dying Light 2 continues to evolve with the introduction of Tower Raid, a thrilling, roguelite-inspired game mode offering unpredictable challenges and high-stakes survival. Following extensive testing, this highly anticipated mode is now live, providing a completely fresh perspective on the infected world.
Forget Aiden Caldwell; in Tower Raid, you'll command one of four distinct warrior archetypes: Tank, Brawler, Ranger, or Specialist. Each class boasts unique abilities, encouraging diverse playstyles and strategic teamwork. For those seeking ultimate difficulty, Tower Raid allows solo play or smaller team sizes.
The mode features three difficulty levels—Quick, Normal, and Elite—affecting both intensity and run length. Each Tower Raid experience is procedurally generated, ensuring no two ascents are alike. Adaptability is crucial, with constantly shifting floor layouts and unpredictable enemy encounters.
A unique progression system ensures that failure fuels success. Each failed attempt unlocks new abilities and weapons, steadily increasing your chances in subsequent runs. Deep within the tower, players will encounter Sola, a mysterious merchant offering rare rewards like the Office Day Outfit, Kuai Dagger, and Silenced Pistol to those who prove their worth.
While preparations for Dying Light: The Beast are underway, Techland remains committed to enhancing Dying Light 2 throughout 2025. Future updates include improved co-op mechanics, refined matchmaking, expanded community map integration, additional Tower Raid characters, new melee and ranged weapons, a new weapon class, prologue enhancements, and significant graphical and technical optimizations.
