Wild Rift Patch 6.1 Goes Cosmic Mid-April
LoL: Wild Rift's Patch 6.1, dubbed "Ascending Stars," is scheduled for a thrilling launch later this month on April 16th. This update promises a cosmic transformation, redefining the game from its menus to the heart of the battlefield. Players will be venturing into the Dual Nova galaxy, featuring the captivating Challenger’s Star and Adventure’s Star.
Adding to the excitement, three new champions are set to join the roster, each with unique and game-altering abilities. Ryze, the Rune Mage, unleashes massive area of effect (AoE) damage and uses his Realm Warp to teleport teammates across the map, changing the course of battles. Nocturne, the Eternal Nightmare, thrives in chaos, utilizing Paranoia to envelop enemies in darkness, disrupting their strategies. Lastly, Zilean, the Chronokeeper, manipulates time, slowing down foes and even bringing allies back from the brink with Chronoshift.
In addition to the newcomers, several champions are undergoing significant reworks. Garen's Courage will now scale over time, enhancing his tankiness, while his Judgment ability will strip away enemy armor more effectively. Ambessa transitions from the jungle to the Baron lane, with adjustments to her damage output and life steal capabilities. Minor tweaks are also in store for Diana, Fiora, Jax, Sona, and Kalista, ensuring they remain competitive in the evolving meta.
Beyond the champion updates, the patch introduces a Bandle-inspired Rift for non-Ranked modes, featuring Enchanted Gifts that emerge through portals during the laning phase, adding a new layer of strategy. Mages will benefit from revamped items; the new Bandle Fantasy item amplifies burst damage, Hextech GLP800 slows enemies with frost bombs, and Malignance boosts ultimate abilities, making spellcasters even more formidable.
Ranked mode is also receiving a fresh season update alongside the launch of the Challenger’s Star. Expect enhancements to the Ranked store and new opportunities to earn seasonal rewards. Midway through the patch, the Adventure’s Star will unlock, introducing AAAARAM—a novel twist on the ARAM mode with added augments and stunning galactic visuals.
The Wild Pass accompanying this patch will offer two breathtaking skins: Wondertown Twisted Fate and Battlecast Nasus. Twisted Fate's new look introduces an exciting new skinline, adding to the visual diversity of Wild Rift.
