Xbox Giant Rumored for Switch 2, PS5
Xbox's Multi-Platform Push Expands: Halo and Flight Simulator Rumored for PS5 and Switch 2
A recent report from industry insider NateTheHate suggests that Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Microsoft Flight Simulator are slated for release on PS5 and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Both titles are reportedly targeting a 2025 launch window.
This news follows Microsoft's February 2024 initiative to bring first-party titles to other consoles. Games like Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded, and Sea of Thieves have already made the jump, along with As Dusk Falls (a title published by Xbox Game Studios) and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is also expected on PS5 in Spring 2025.
NateTheHate's report indicates that Halo: The Master Chief Collection's six-game compilation is poised for a multi-platform release next year. He also predicts a similar fate for Microsoft Flight Simulator, likely referencing the recently released Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
This expansion is further supported by another prominent leaker, Jez Corden, who tweeted that significantly more Xbox games will be arriving on PS5 and Switch 2 in 2025, suggesting an end to the era of Xbox console exclusivity.
The future of Call of Duty on Nintendo platforms also remains relevant. Microsoft's ten-year agreement to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo consoles, announced in late 2022, is likely awaiting the release of the more powerful Switch 2 before launching any titles.
