ADW Launcher 2: Redefining your Android desktop experience.

You might think the original, legendary launcher had been abandoned. It's a common assumption that progress is linear, but from our perspective—non-linear and non-subjective—this update has been live for three years, and you simply didn't notice. Don't worry; we understand not everyone has... 1.21 gigawatts of temporal power to spare!

Having said that, we’ve studied Google's recommendations on app settings extensively and debated them at length. But as the power of speech does not equate to wisdom, we've done the exact opposite. Without the freedom to choose, there can be no creativity. A launcher without options is a boring launcher.

You might also think, "I find your abundance of settings overwhelming," and we don't blame you! That's a perfectly normal reaction. Perhaps you're not ready for this level of control. But your kids are going to love it. Ultimately, the odds of tailoring it to your exact preferences are roughly 3,720 to 1, which mathematically proves it's the best launcher—numbers never lie.

And yes, we have screens. Icons? Absolutely. Widgets? Of course. What else? Well, you can even create your own. If you prefer a ready-made setup, use themes! Or widget and template packs! Is your device's desktop dull? Change it again, Sam. Your style, your rules. Do, or do not—there's a setting for it. Tweak it, change it, shaken, not stirred.

And remember: "There is no 'unknown,' only undiscovered options within ADW Settings."

Most of the application has been rebuilt and redesigned from the ground up, with tons of new features added. Here are a few highlights:

* Support for Android 7.1 launcher shortcuts (with limited support for older versions down to Android 5.x).

* New icon effects section. Choose from image filters and compositions. Impressive!

* Dynamic UI coloring that adapts to your wallpaper.

* New screen management: Press and hold an empty area on the desktop.

* New method for adding widgets and shortcuts.

* New way to change wallpapers, lock/unlock the desktop, or access settings: Press and hold an empty desktop area and select your option.

* Added a fast-scroll style for the app drawer.

* Added an indexed fast-scroll style for the app drawer.

* Added several new desktop transition animations.

* Added a new section to configure icon notification badges.

* Added a visual configuration mode for desktop, icon appearance, folder appearance, and app drawer options.

* Added an option to customize the top panel/widget.

* Added an option to change the content type of the bottom panel (dock or widget).

* Added a new wrap folder mode. Tap to launch the first app in the folder; swipe up to reveal all folder contents.

* Added a new fast application search within the app drawer.

* Enhanced app categories in the app drawer.

* Improved management of user gestures.

* Improved method for applying both internal and external themes.

* Enhanced context menus for all desktop objects.

* Added a new Custom Widget object. Add custom widgets from the widget list, import them from friends and developers, or create, edit, and share your own.

* Added initial extensions for custom widgets (time, battery).

* Explore the ADWExtensions pack for more extensions (weather, Gmail, etc.).

* Added a template manager. Easily remove, add, and share templates.

* Improved the icon properties dialog.

* Improved the folder properties dialog.

* Added a backup manager in Advanced Settings > System. You can now import data from other popular launchers (if we've missed one, let us know so we can include it!).

* Added the ability to set a secondary action for desktop shortcuts. Swipe up on a shortcut to trigger it.
