MAME4droid: Your Android Arcade Emulator

MAME4droid, a port of MAME 0.37b5 by the MAME Team and developed by D. Valdeita, brings classic arcade gaming to your Android device. This Android adaptation of iMAME4all (originally for jailbroken iPhones and iPads) is based on Franxis' GP2X and WIZ MAME4ALL 2.5.

Experience over 2000 ROMs! Keep in mind that performance will vary depending on the game and device capabilities. Some games may run flawlessly, while others may not be compatible. Please refrain from contacting the developer for individual game compatibility inquiries. Older devices may experience performance limitations. To improve performance, consider lowering sound quality (or disabling it entirely), reducing bit depth to 8-bit, underclocking the CPU and sound CPUs, and disabling animations and smooth scaling.

ROM Placement: After installation, place your MAME-titled zipped ROMs in the /sdcard/ROMs/MAME4all/roms folder. Note that MAME4droid uses only MAME4droid & iMAME4all ROM sets ('0.37b5', 'GP2X, WIZ 0.37b11'). Use the included clrmame.dat file (located in /sdcard/ROMs/MAME4all/) and ClrMAME Pro (available at http://mamedev.emulab.it/clrmamepro/) to convert ROM sets from other MAME versions.

Save States: MAME4droid does not support save states due to its underlying MAME version limitations.
