Author : Jack Update : Feb 20,2025

Happy New Year! Welcome to 2025! Let's dive into the most anticipated video game releases of the year.

January 2025

Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Kicking off the year on January 17th is Dynasty Warriors: Origins, the latest installment in Tecmo Koei's iconic musou series. This marks the franchise's first major release since 2018, promising a visually stunning experience leveraging the power of current-gen consoles (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC). Prepare for epic battles and hordes of enemies!

For those who prefer long-range engagements, Sniper Elite: Resistance arrives on January 30th. This entry continues the tradition of… well, let's just say it's a very specific kind of sniping simulator. Expect more of what you love (or perhaps, loved?) on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.

February 2025

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
February 11th brings the highly anticipated Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Continuing Henry of Skalitz's journey, this historical RPG promises a deep, immersive experience set in 14th-century Bohemia. Available on current-gen consoles and PC.

Also launching on February 11th is Sid Meier's Civilization VII. A legendary franchise needs little introduction, but expect more of the strategic empire-building gameplay you know and love. This one's coming to almost every platform imaginable (except mobile, for now).

On February 14th, Assassin's Creed Shadows transports the franchise to feudal Japan. Play as both ninja and samurai in this dual-protagonist adventure. Available on current-gen consoles and PC.

Feeling lonely on Valentine's Day? Date Everything! (February 14th, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC) is a unique dating sim where the possibilities are… well, let's just say they're unique.

Monster Hunter Wilds
Obsidian's Avowed (February 18th, Xbox Series X|S and PC) offers a first-person perspective on the fantasy world of Pillars of Eternity. Expect a more focused experience compared to some other open-world RPGs.

For high-seas adventures, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii (February 21st, Xbox, PlayStation, and PC) sees Goro Majima embracing a new career path.

Finally, February 28th sees the release of Monster Hunter Wilds (Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC). Capcom aims to refine the core experience while adding new features to attract both veterans and newcomers.

March 2025

Split Fiction
March 6th brings Split Fiction from Hazelight, the creators of It Takes Two. Expect another fantastic co-op adventure, this time with a sci-fi and fantasy twist (and maybe some pigs?). Available on PC and current-gen consoles.

For a more relaxed experience, Tales of the Shire (March 25th, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC) offers a cozy life sim focusing on the daily lives of hobbits.

Atomfall
Prefer post-apocalyptic settings? Atomfall (March 27th, all platforms except Switch) offers a survival experience with strong Stalker influences.

Also on March 27th, The First Berserker: Khazan (Xbox, PlayStation, and PC) expands the Dungeon Fighter Online universe.

March 28th sees the PC launch of inZOI, a visually stunning life simulator that could potentially shake up the genre. Console versions are planned for later.

April 2025

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves
Finally, April 24th brings Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, the first new mainline entry in the Fatal Fury series this century. Get ready for some classic fighting game action on PlayStation, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
