Capcom Unveils Upcoming Titles: MH Wilds Showcase Highlights

Capcom's recent Spotlight and Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase unveiled exciting updates across its game lineup. Key announcements included new details for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, a Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny remaster, a Capcom Fighting Collection 2 release date, and extensive Monster Hunter Wilds information.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword – A 2026 Debut

PlayTargeted for a 2026 release, Onimusha: Way of the Sword promises compelling characters, a fresh protagonist, and engaging enemies. The game will recreate the Edo period setting of Kyoto, featuring historically accurate locations. The developers aim for "ultimate sword fighting action" with intensely satisfying combat. The protagonist, wielding an Oni Gauntlet, will battle Genma, fueled by the souls of defeated foes. While challenging, the game's difficulty will remain accessible to action fans of all skill levels.

Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny – Remastered in 2025

PlayA remastered version of the 2002 classic, Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, is slated for a 2025 release, bridging the gap until Onimusha: Way of the Sword's arrival.

Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta 2 – Arkveld Awaits

PlayThe second Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta introduces the flagship monster, Arkveld, in a challenging quest. Other additions include a Gypceros Hunt, a training area, Private Lobbies, and Online Single Player mode. Data from the first Beta will transfer, and the Character Creator, Story Trial, and Doshaguma hunt return. Cross-play will be featured.

Beta dates:

  • Thursday, February 6, 7 PM PT – Sunday, February 9, 6:59 PM PT
  • Thursday, February 13, 7 PM PT – Sunday, February 16, 6:59 PM PT

PlayCharacter data transfers to the full game (February 28th release), but progress does not. Participants receive a special Pendant.

Monster Hunter Wilds – Iceshard Cliffs and New Threats

A new story trailer showcased the Iceshard Cliffs, introducing Rove (Wudwud), Hirabami – Leviathan, Nerscylla – Temnoceran, and Gore Magala. Further details on Arkveld were also revealed.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 – May 16, 2025 Release

PlayLaunching May 16, 2025, Capcom Fighting Collection 2 includes Capcom vs. SNK Millennium Fight 2000 Pro, Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001, Capcom Fighting Evolution, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper, Power Stone, Power Stone 2, Project Justice, and Plasma Sword: Night of Bilstein.
