Civilization VI Mobile Gets Full Units & Maps
Civilization VI for Android is receiving a significant update that finally brings it in line with other platforms. On June 12th, Android players will enjoy the same content, features, and gameplay improvements as PC and console users.
Expanded Roster: Fresh Units, Maps, and Game Modes
This comprehensive update by Aspyr enhances the mobile Civilization VI experience with three new military units. The Trebuchet serves as a powerful Medieval siege weapon, succeeding the Catapult and preceding the Bombard.
The Man-At-Arms emerges as the Swordsman's upgraded form before evolving into the Musketman, while the Industrial-era Line Infantry bridges the gap between Musketman and modern Infantry units.
Two expansive maps debut: the Mediterranean Large Map and Earth Huge Map, both featuring authentic terrain and resource distribution. Each offers a historical variant allowing players to begin in their civilization's actual capital location.
New gameplay options include Tech and Civic Shuffle Mode, which randomizes technological progression within each era. Barbarian Clans Mode transforms nomadic tribes into seven distinct factions capable of evolving into full City-States.
The update introduces two custom selection tools: the Natural Wonder Picker and City-State Picker for personalized game setups. Additionally, the Leader Selection Pool now includes Julius Caesar among its curated roster of historical figures.
Premium Content Arrives: New Frontier and Leader Passes
June 12th also marks the Android release of two premium expansions. The $29.99 New Frontier Pass delivers eight new civilizations, nine leaders, and six game modes, while the $19.99 Leader Pass introduces twelve additional leaders plus six alternate versions of existing ones.
The update completes Civilization VI's Android version, making all content available across platforms. Players can download the game through Google Play Store in preparation for these substantial additions.
