Development of Crysis 4 Temporarily Paused Due to Financial Difficulties
Crytek Announces Restructuring, Layoffs, and Crysis Game Delay
Crytek has confirmed a company restructuring resulting in the layoff of approximately 60 employees, representing about 15% of its 400-person workforce. This follows reported financial difficulties.
Concurrently, the company announced a temporary halt to development on the next Crysis game, a decision made in Q3 2024. Crytek is now focusing all resources on Hunt: Showdown 1896.
The studio explored reassigning affected staff to other projects, but determined this to be infeasible. Despite cost-cutting measures, layoffs were deemed necessary.

Future plans for Crytek include expanding Hunt: Showdown 1896 content, while the new Crysis title is indefinitely delayed. Affected employees will receive severance packages and career support.
Despite the challenges, Crytek remains positive about its future, committed to Hunt: Showdown 1896 and the ongoing development of its CRYENGINE technology.
