Digimon Story: Time Stranger Surprises with Early Leak

Author : Amelia Update : Feb 20,2025

A potential leak from GameStop suggests an upcoming Digimon game, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, may be unveiled during tonight's PlayStation State of Play event. Gematsu discovered and shared pre-order listings for the game on GameStop's website for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. While the listings lack images or gameplay details, the timing strongly suggests an official announcement is imminent.

The leak surfaces just hours before Sony's State of Play, a 40-minute presentation with unannounced content. Given the timing and the pre-order listings, a reveal of Digimon Story: Time Stranger during the show seems highly probable.

The Digimon Story series boasts a long history, beginning with the original Nintendo DS title in the mid-2000s. Subsequent releases, including Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth (2015), Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory (2017), and their 2019 Complete Edition, have expanded the franchise across various platforms. These RPGs typically involve befriending and battling Digimon.

While Digimon Survive offered a different experience, fans have eagerly awaited a new entry in the Digimon Story series since producer Kazumashu Habu hinted at a new game in 2022. The GameStop leak strongly indicates this wait may soon be over.
